Bojagi Saffron

Project type

Residential Terrace Home

Date

2024

Location

Melbourne, Victoria

Bojagi Saffron draws inspiration from the harmonious interplay of light, vibrant colour and texture to infuse energy and life into the space. Central to the concept is the thoughtful integration of natural light, using it as a medium to illuminate the space with a dynamic palette of colours, infusing the room with vitality and warmth. The design is directly inspired by the existing stained glass windows in the terrace home, which serve as a visual focal point and a source of natural light. These stained glass elements become a key reference in the creation of vibrant, playful hues that shift and change throughout the day, creating an ever-evolving atmosphere. The concept further explores the traditional Bojagi technique, where pieces of fabric, texture, and colour are seamlessly stitched together to form a patchwork of beauty and purpose. Drawing from this philosophy, the space features a layered collage of colours, textures, and materials, each piece adding depth and dimension, much like a fabric quilt.
